MOT Testing Explained
Here at Hythe Garage, we offer MOT testing and services for all makes and models of cars and vans. We’re a class 4 MOT test centre in Kent and offer MOT tests 5 days a week. Our qualified MOT inspector can test cars, light commercial vehicles, taxis, ambulances and minibuses. We have modern facilities and our customers can even wait while we complete the test.
When you book an MOT test with Hythe Garage we’ll fully inspect your vehicle to make sure it’s up to DVSA standards and is roadworthy. We’ll work to guidelines which are set out by the DVSA and test your emissions, brakes, safety features and tyres. We’ll also inspect the exterior of your vehicle to make sure the bodywork is in good condition. An MOT must be done annually on every vehicle over 3 years old. The test takes about an hour and your vehicle will either be given a pass or fail stamp. If you pass, then we’ll give you an MOT certificate valid for the next year. But don’t worry if you fail – at Hythe Garage we will help get your car repaired. Our trained technicians will repair the car with your consent and re-test your vehicle in order to get your MOT certificate.
Servicing at Hythe Garage
As well as MOT testing, we also offer car servicing at interim, full and major levels. Our trained technicians will let you know which service your vehicle needs and will get it done at a time and cost that suits you. With all services your car or van will get oil and coolants changed, filters checked, a test drive and a completed service manual detailing the work carried out.
A service can be done while you wait and if we discover any further repairs or parts you need then we’ll let you know before we do any work.
Customer Service
To make choosing a service easy for our customers, all our services can be booked online. You can compare the different levels of service to see what you need and what’s included. An interim service is recommended every 6,000 miles, a full service is every 12,000 miles and a major service is every 24,000 miles, dependent on your model of car or van. If you’re not sure what kind of service you need then our staff have the answer.
